Once called "the Wonder bra of eye makeup", false lashes have stormed the beauty industry with a force. Having longer lashes is a sign of femininity. By helping create beautiful eye make up looks to giving someone with short lashes hope. But who thought of them? Lets' take a look at the history of false lashes.
An American movie director D.W.Griffith was working on a motion picture called Intolerance in 1916, when he wanted his main actress(Princess Beloved) to have lashes so long that they graced her cheeks when she blinked or looked down. However, Seena Owen who played Princess Beloved felt that the lashes were too annoying that she only wore them for a few hours at a time.

It was not till the 1960's that false lashes became most popular and now in the 2000's.
