Makeup Tip # 1: How Do You Apply Your Foundation?

So, a little while back I saw this demo and it completely changed how I applied foundation, and made me aware. I wanted to share this tip with my followers and see what you all have to say about it.
I posted this about two days ago and have had some interesting responses. Some, like me, have found that this was extremely helpful in explaining how foundations are applied in each way. Especially for HD photography/film. And others have questioned it by saying that it is different on skin and that if you wet the sponge, it won't suck up the product.
My 'argument' over that is that, yes, even though it is not on the skin, it is a clear way of distinguishing application. Also, for the amount of product waste, waste in general from usage of many sponges and money spent constantly buying new sponges, you might as well buy a good quality foundation brush that can be used over and over with no waste!
You be your own judge though, let me know what you think and let me know how you apply your foundation and why it works for you!

REQUESTED: Foundation Routine and Everyday look

This definitely has to be the most simple videos I have filmed, for the fact that this is my daily makeup routine. I most likely would not have filmed this, however I was requested to do it many times. So, I finally gave in.
As you may notice in the video, I do use quite a bit of products, however I use only a little of each. I love the blend and mix products to get my desired effect. And this is what I like to say is my "artist" side.

Anyways I hope you enjoy watching this video, to me it is routine.... I did film another tutorial today which I hope to have up in the near future... It is the weekend, so I cannot make any promises as to when it will be up.. Have a great weekend! and thanks to ALL my followers/subscribers here on blogspot, youtube, beautylish, facebook, twitter and maycup ! You all make this possible!

ProduCt.ReViEw.- Guerlain Lingerie de Peau - Invisible Skin-Fusion Foundation SPF 20

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau - Invisible Skin-Fusion Foundation SPF 20
"Lingerie de Peau is a foundation in such perfect osmosis with the skin that it glides on like an extremely fine silk stocking. As invisible to the eye as to the touch, it fuses with the skin like an imperceptible second skin. Impalpable and secret, this shapely, silken veil renders the complexion sublime without artifice.ts texture is so supple, so soft that it melts deliciously into the skin. Uniquely comfortable, its formulation is so light it becomes transparent. Lingerie de Peau acts in absolute, weightless affinity with the skin to infuse it with light and freshness. Sublimely transparent, the complexion becomes as soft and radiant as silk.
A range of 9 natural shades, seeming to fuse so perfectly with the skin, it feels as though it were made just for you. The skin is coloured and evened out with total transparency. No colour is visible on the face; the complexion is simply fresh, radiant and disarmingly natural." Guerlain
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: TITANIUM DIOXIDE 3.16 % - OCTINOXATE (ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE) 3.00 %.
OTHER INGREDIENTS: AQUA (WATER) - METHYLTRIMETHICONE - DIMETHICONE - ALCOHOL - PEG-9 POLYDIMETHYLSILOXYETHYL DIMETHICONE - PENTYLENE GLYCOL - MICA - PHENYLTRIMETHICONE - SILICA - ACRYLATES/DIMETHICONE COPOLYMER - ACRYLATES COPOLYMER - ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE - BUTYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRYLATE/DICAPRATE - STEARIC ACID - SORBITAN SESQUIOLEATE - PHENOXYETHANOL - ALUMINA - SODIUM MYRISTOYL GLUTAMATE - HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE - LECITHIN - TETRASODIUM EDTA - PARFUM (FRAGRANCE) - HEXYL CINNAMAL - SERICIN - HYDROXYCITRONELLAL - BHT - CITRONELLOL - ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE - HYDROLYZED LINSEED EXTRACT - SORBIC ACID - [+/- CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE) - CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES)] 051280

Comes in 11 shades. Blends easily on the skin with no effort. I also find that it is semi buildable with no "cakey" look. Looks extremely natural on the skin. Has a slight glow to it and has medium oil control.
Pricey for a foundation, but it's Guerlain, what else could we expect? Even though there are 11 shades, I could not find my colour. It is a sheer/medium coverage(I like heavier coverage). There is not even one single skincare quality ingredient in it! It is also heavily fragranced, therefore it is unsuitable for the eye area.  Another point is that it has ingredients that will surely clog the pores, for example, it contains 4(OMG! yes four!) different types of silicone AND not only that...it contains pure ALCOHOL! which of course will completely dehydrate the skin.

Again another liquid foundation, was iffy about it, and for a reason...... It did not offer as much coverage as I would like (as I have scars) however someone with pretty decent skin may like this. I do wish that the colour selection however was better. Honestly, not the quality that I would expect for the price first off.... and second for the name it represents..I would not repurchase this.

- Oat Sugar extract contains natural skin tightening benefits by forming an invisible and flexible veil on skin.
- Plant-based micro-patch delivers time-released hydration, sealing in moisture, helping skin look toned and feel more comfortable.

Smoothes on nicely. Medium coverage. Smells great, like a soft powdery scent. I like the fact that it looks like natural skin. My boyfriend commented on how it pretty much looked like I didn't have any makeup on, while still  having flawless skin. Doesn't feel heavy at all on the skin. Love that it's in a glass bottle.
If someone is sensitive to scents, they may not like this one. Colour selection is not the best as it is in only 9 shades here in Canada, all seem quite pinky.

I was quite iffy about this foundation as I really do not like liquid foundations, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised on how I actually really liked it. It's a pretty reasonable price for a foundation as well. The quality is great.

BeauTy.MyThs.BusTed.-ParT.2.

A little while ago I started the first part of a series that busts beauty myths and secrets, this is my second installation of the series.......
To check out Part one of this series Click Here
Myth #21: If you have sensitive skin, you must have been born with it - FALSE! Sensitivity in the skin can can happen at any time. Sensitivity can happen later in life for many reasons such as hormonal changes, allergies, use of a new product, medication or seasonal reactions

Myth #22: It's never too early to start using anti ageing treatments - FALSE! While using a product to prevent aging is okay, before the signs of aging, using a product to get rid of ageing is probably not the best idea. Instead use a daily SPF with broad spectrum protection and a moisturizer that has antioxidants.

Myth #23: Makeup with anti ageing benefits is just a gimmick- FALSE! The products out on the market nowadays contain ingredients that protect, nourish and repair the skin, such as vitamins, antioxidants and SPF.

Myth #24: It's bad to wash your hair after dying it - TRUE! When you colour your hair, it takes time to penetrate and attach itself to the hair, meaning that if you shampoo too early, you'll mess up the process and end up losing some colour. Try washing your hair 2 days after dying your hair. And always use products appropriate for colour treated hair, as this will prevent fading.

Myth #24: Shimmery products can make you look older - TRUE! Shimmery or frosty products can tend to accentuate wrinkles and sit in the folds. Try using products with a subtle sheen in a blush or eyeshadow, this will give the skin a nice healthy glow.

Myth #25: Toothpaste will get rid of pimples - FALSE! While toothpaste does dry the pimple, it can dry so much to cause a scar. Active ingredients in toothpaste are usually fluoride and mint, which can seriously irritate the skin. Instead opt for a product that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide for the stubborn pimples.

Myth #26: Brushing your hair when it's wet is bad - FALSE! It all depends how you do it. While in the shower is best. Do it when you have conditioner already on the hair. Using a paddle brush or wide toothed comb is best. Comb the hair in small sections, working from the ends up. And remember hair that is wet, is very fragile and can break.

Myth #27: Washing your hair every day is bad for it - TRUE! This is true for everyone, especially for chemically processed hair. By washing too much you can dry out the hair, as the hair needs the natural oils from the scalp to stay moisturized. Try using a dry shampoo on days that you don't wash, to freshen up. Or try a leave in conditioner for a curly or wavy hair.

Myth #28: Your eyelashes can fall out if you don't remove your mascara - TRUE! Built up mascara can block and clog the eyelash follicles, which can then lead to breakage.

Myth #29: The best place to try foundation is your inner wrist - FALSE! As this can seem like a simple solution, it in fact is the lightest skin on your body. Any foundation should be tested on your jaw line.

Myth #30: The more expensive the product- the better it is - TRUE! and FALSE! Good quality ingredients can come at a price, but saying that does not mean that dishing out more money can deliver better results. Do your research about what you're being sold and ask for samples. Get a cosmetics ingredients book/dictionary. Also you know what works on your skin and what doesn't. Remember every company has great marketing teams to back them up, so be savvy and research! And everyone expects and wants different results, yours may not be the same as the next.

Mini.MaybeLLine.HauL.aNd.cLothinG.HauL.

For a while now I have been curious about these products, but never got around to buying them. However the other day they were all on sale for $4.99CDN each so I jumped on the opportunity. The products were all from Maybelline: Dream liquid mousse foundation in Medium 2.5 Natural beige(sorry I know the pic says 3.5!!! but it's 2.5), Lash Stiletto voluptuous mascara in 981 very black waterproof and Line Stiletto Ultimate Precise liquid eyeliner in 501 Blackest black. I wore all of them today and and quite impressed so far. The mascara reminds me of Lancome's Hypnose Drama mascara and the liner like Lancome's Artliner. Reviews will definitely be coming soon. HAVE ANY OF YOU TRIED THESE? WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THEM?

I love wearing summer dresses and when I saw this one I fell in love! I didn't care that I couldn't try it on. It is very "asian" style with the little lacy slip underneath. I bought it at the night market here in Vancouver for only $20CDN! What a steal! What do you think of this dress? cute? Oh btw, for those who care to know necklace is from Forever 21, bought it there last year in the Hollywood Boulevard location.
