SNEAK PEEK: "Shine like an actress" Anna Sui makeup spring/summer2011

So today I was fortunate enough to attend the Anna Sui training session here in Vancouver, to learn about the new makeup coming out this year. This year will feature a whole new lip collection, fun packaging and awesome gift with purchases. As usual the products are all fun and cute. So rather then just talk about them, I hope you enjoy these exclusive photos, sorry some are not the best quality, they were taken with my phone camera!

Halloween costumes! and Missing photos from Anna Sui collection!

So this post is going to be a little random and maybe off topic of this blog, however it's what's on my mind right now! I have been surfing the www looking for costume ideas for this Halloween. I LOVE LOVE LOVE dressing up for halloween!. The photo below is myself with my man and some friends last halloween. I did all their makeup! They dressed up as Death, The Mask, Hillbilly, Bumblebee, Pingaman(made up super hero), and Beatle Juice. And myself I was a kind of samurai, people were saying I was like a Geisha or Chun-Li. 

This year I am undecided as to what I want to be.. I checked out http://www.buycostumes.com/ today, which has about 2400 woman's costumes to choose from. I kind of came to the conclusion that I could make my own costume.... and I also decide that I wanted all wouldn't mind owning a few of the costumes. I absolutely love to dress up. While typing 'halloween costume' into google, my eye was caught by some celebrity costumes....check some of them out.

Can you guess who this one is? I couldn't...it's the beautiful Heidi Klum...No way right?

Christina Aguilera as a sexy nurse, and not too sure who the guy is... anyone know?

Anna Sui training fall 2010 preview

So the yesterday, I was fortunate enough to attend the Anna Sui cosmetics training  school for fall 2010. At the school we learnt about the amazing Anna Sui and her almost instant success. And her imaginative ways. 

It was nice to learn that not only did Anna make her cosmetics line because she wanted to offer her customers a choice to create their own style, but she also kept all her "factories" or the places where her products are made, in the USA and not overseas to third world countries where kids are making the products! Everything is high quality and if it is made somewhere else, it is made in Japan.

From the packaging that reflects Anna Sui's funky personality to the smell of all her products(tea rose), you can feel the quality.

While at the school, I took some photos. However the lighting wasn't that great. So I have some from the school and some from the Anna Sui website. Enjoy

This is two coats of Anna Sui 004 nail polish. I am not usually a fan of glittery nail polish but this one has grown on me. I think the reason I like this polish so much too is that it has a sweet rose smell to it.

Heart: Raspberry, rose petal accord and pomegranate

Base: Violet, cedar wood and musky notes

Price: Each eau de toilette; 50ml for $69CDN

Where to get it: Sears and select perfumeries

Perfume: Guess "Seductive for her" 

How it smells:

Top: Bergamot, black currant and crispy pear

Heart: Orris, orange flower and sambac jasmine

Base: Olibanum, cashmere wood and vanilla infusion

The product: Anna Sui Lip balm

Claim to fame: A luxurious rose smelling lip balm that hydrates the lips before a lip colour or any time you need moisture on your lips.

Ingredients: Could not find them and packaging doesn't say them.

Pros: Cute packaging. Lovely rose smell. Hydrates the lips well. Makes lips feel soft

Cons: As cute as the tin is, it is very unhygienic. 

The bottom line: Maybe not worth spending 25 bucks on for a lip balm but makes a cute gift. Love the smell and the product.
