Eva Mendes: The New Face of Angel by Thierry Mugler

Exit: Naomi Watts . . . In: Eva Mendes. Eva will be the new face of the very well known fragrance, Angel. While Naomi has been the face for the fragrance since 2008, this is what the company had to say about the change: "While Naomi Watts' ethereal beauty embodied the angelic aspect of the fragrance, Thierry Mugler chose to reignite the enticing and explosive dimensions of the fragrance with the sultry Mendes, through her obviously flawless physical beauty is in perfect harmony with the artist's aesthetic canon, Ms. Mendes mesmerized Mugler with her independence, determination and humour." 

The new campaign is planned to debut later this year.... 

I personally cannot wait! I am proud... all these Latina's doing so well :)

She is definitely sexy and sultry and will be perfect...

I WANT: Reb'l fleur by Rihanna

Isn't she HOT?! Holy! I love the ad for Reb'l Fleur. 

This fragrance is a definite possibility to my fragrance wardrobe. I have not yet smelt it, as  I believe it is not yet launched here in Canada. However, so I've heard, it has been available for month or more in some parts of the world. 

I love the bottle, which is shaped as a high heel. Very elegant, yet honesty not something I would imagine Rihanna would have come up with. With a name like Reb'l Fleur, I would imagine the bottle in some sort of flower shape. Dunno, just sayin'. 

Anyways, I definitely cannot wait to smell it! The notes are as follows:

Plump, delicious fruits, red berries, purple plums and juicy, ripe peaches, make a delicious first impression. 

Then the heart opens into a lush hybrid hinting at Island life, subtle yet intoxicating, blossoming with sumptuous florals, a passionate melody of Hawaiian Hibiscus flower, violet, tuberose and coconut water.

Defiantly sexy, the base notes linger, a beguiling, sensual mélange. Vanilla, patchouli, amber and musk become a sultry chorus striking an unforgettable, emotional chord.

Want to smell like Gaga? ... Lady Gaga makes fragrance deal with Coty!!

One of my favourite artists, Lady Gaga has confirmed today a fragrance deal with Coty. A couple of weeks ago, it was heard that she was secretly(not so secretly) negotiating with Coty. The now Grammy Award winner is said to have her first fragrance launch in early 2012(OH NO! we have to wait that long :(  ). For now we have to be happy with limited edition collections, like her VIVA GLAM collection from MAC cosmetics. Below are her latest addition to the line, limited edition lip shaped bags(in stores now). With all proceeds going to MAC AIDS fund... did you know that Lady Gaga is a spokesperson for it? Are you going to buy her fragrance no matter what it looks like? What do you think it will smell like? What will it look like....... Believe me when Coty has a school around that time... I will be there.. and I will be equipped with a camera for you lovelies!

This week I recieved some perfumes from the Cosmetics Advisory Board to share with my lovely followers!

1 Million - for men 

The creator Paco Rabanne says the following: "In all civilizations and religions gold has always managed to seduce people". The inspiration of 1 Million was Paco Rabanne's metallic fashion and was created by a collaboration of three famous noses, Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux and Michel Girard. 1 Million offers notes of sparkling grapefruit, red orange, mint, rose, cinnamon, spices, blond leather, blond wood, patchouli and amber.

Lady Million - for women

After 1 Million, two years later, Lady Million finally appeared. Lady Million is meant to represent a woman who radiates someone who wants to earn millions or look like a million dollars. Someone who dominates and possesses fiery characteristics with incredible sensuality. Instead of a gold bullion(bar), the design is a golden diamond. The composition introduces floral nectar, lemon notes, raspberry, neroli, orange blossom, sambac jasmine, gardenia, patchouli and honey. The fragrance was created by perfumers Anne Flipo, Beatrice Piquet and Dominique Ropion. Lady Million makes men's fantasy and desires come true. Advertising face is Dree Hemingway.

If you follow me quite regularly you will know that I am a Canadian Advisory Board Member of Cosmetics Magazine, being a part of this group allows me to try new products when they launch or before they launch or sometimes ones that have been around for a bit. This week I received the latest men's fragrance compliments of the Calvin Klein collection: Eternity for men AQUA. Of course I gave this one to my boyfriend to try and give me his input as I could use this one, yet it's meant for men. He usually does not like any type of fragrance, so I was delighted to find out that he didn't mind it. And actually ask me where it was last night so he could wear it.

"Eternity AQUA is inspired by the freshness of the ocean and the elegance of a confident, refined man... is a modern aquatic woody fragrance that leaves a lasting impression with a watery surge of chilled cucumber....it opens with water lotus and chilled cucumber. The heart reflects the timeless elegance of lavender and draws you in with the warmth of sandalwood. Drenched green leaves run throughout the fragrance adding aquatic depth." For someone who is not a huge fan of Calvin Klein, I found myself quite surprised at this fragrance as it is soft and fresh smelling and not over powering at all.

FraGrAnce.DoN'Ts..- HoW.To.TeSt.A.PerFume.ProPerLy.

Find the perfect perfume can be challenging and annoying sometimes. So many choices and not knowing where to start. But finding the right perfume can be all in the way you try them. Not many know how to properly test a fragrance. And unfortunately many people end up having to smell hundreds before giving up or luckily finding the right scent.

 #1 - You decide on a fragrance by how the cap smells: Smelling the cap of the fragrance will smell like the top note only of the perfume. Also this is not a proper way to see if you like the fragrance as you can no smell it on your skin and see how it reacts. Never pick your fragrance this way.

#2 - You smell your wrist right after you spray the perfume: Everyones skin reacts differently to perfumes; the same perfume can smell completely different on you as it does on someone else. After testing the perfume on your wrist, allow it to settle into your skin for at least 20 seconds.

#3 - You smell the perfume for the first time and already have your decision about it: Just as the saying goes; don't judge a book by its cover, don't just a perfume at first scent. To fully get an idea about a fragrance, you need to let it bloom over a 30 minute period. Find a couple that you like and try them on your wrists. After 30 minutes, smell them again and decide. Many times I have people tell me that they love the perfume when they bought it but when they wore it, it was horrible.

#4 - You sample too many perfumes at one time: Trying too may perfumes at one time can be overwhelming. After about 3 they all seem to smell the same. If someone offers you coffee beans, this may help temporarily, however 3 is the maximum you should smell at one time. 

#5 - Men can only wear men's fragrance; Women can only wear woman's fragrance: Just like clothing, just because it says for men does not mean that you cannot wear it! If you love a smell, try it on and see how it reacts with your skin. I personally love the FCUK for mens fragrance and wear it occasionally.  

#6 - Less is MORE: One to three spritz of a perfume should be the maximum when wearing them as over spraying can be overwhelming. Most people wear perfume, yours isn't the only one. Try applying the perfume to pulse points: behind the ears, wrists, ankles or behind the knees. You can smell your perfume when you first spritz it, however our olfactive systems shut down after a while as a defence mechanism. But that does not mean that no one else can smell it!
