KnoW.to.LoVe.-BraNd.SpotLight. - Fusion Beauty

Introduction and company history
Fusion Beauty was created by Randi Shinder(founder and CEO of Fusion Beauty) after many years in the beauty industry. Previous to launching Fusion Beauty in 2005 she launched The Clean fragrance line and other successful beauty brands like Dessert Treats(with Jessica Simpson) and Scentology(a perfume line that promotes positive effects on mood and behaviour).
Her goal with launching Fusion Beauty was to develop products that were high performance and with breakthrough beauty technologies that could be compared to in office procedures like injectables(ex. Botox). With this in mind she launched the first product to Fusion Beauty: Lipfusion Micro-injected collagen lip plump, which resulted with Lipfusion becoming the best selling product at Sephora

Company today and What the brand has to offer

"Since launching in January, 2005 with the flagship clear Micro-Injected Collagen™ Lip Plump, LipFusion has since expanded its lip plumping line with the first-ever Micro-Injected Collagen™ Lip Plumping Pencil in a variety of colors, Micro-Injected Collagen™ Color Shines and the recently launched LipFusion XL™ - 2X Micro-Injected Collagen + HA Advanced Lip Plumping Therapy. An advanced nighttime treatment, LipFusion XL combines two of the most effective injectables available in one powerful Topical-Injectable™ for maximum plumping and long-term fullness.
Fusion Beauty introduced its breakthrough Topical-Injectable™ alternative to doctor-administered anti-wrinkle injections with LiftFusion® Face Lift in March, 2006. This technologically advanced cosmetic formula delivers visible results without the discomfort, side effects and unnatural loss of facial expressiveness associated with many syringe-administered anti-wrinkle products.
Always innovating, Fusion Beauty has gone on to introduce GlowFusion, LashFusion and SkinFusion. From perfecting your glow and complexion to protecting and plumping your lashes, Fusion Beauty continues to re-design the landscape of the cosmetics industry.
Fusion Beauty will continue to apply its patented formulations and knowledge to provide safe and effective results comparable to today’s popular injectables – minus the injection." (www.fusionbeauty.com)
Fusion Beauty has also recently signed Kim Kardashian as the new face of Lipfusion, IllumiFill Line Filling Luminzer and lip plumpers.

KnoW.to.LoVe.-BraNd.SpotLight. - MaybeLLine.

Maybe she's born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline.
Introduction and company history
Who would have known that a company name would come from the name Maybel and Vaseline?! We all know Maybelline is a wallet friendly drugstore brand that has been trusted for years. But do we know how it all came to be? The company was founded by  a New York chemist named Thomas L. Williams in 1915. The story actually started however two years before then(1913), when Thomas' sister named Maybel fell in love with a man who loved someone else. The woman wanted her man so she did what she could with what she had. So she took vaseline(petroleum jelly) and applied it to her lashes and her brows. Thomas came into the picture when he decided to add carbon dust to the vaseline to darken the lashes and brows, thus making them more dramatic. Of course it worked! Maybel got her man and Thomas took it from there..creating a global industry giant. The line started out with the name "Lash-Brow-Ine". But with the awkward name it didn't go anywhere. So Thomas renamed it Maybelline, a combination of Maybel and Vaseline.
In 1917, Thomas introduced Maybelline Cake mascara, which was the first that was made for everyday use. It was first only available by mail order, however woman were asking for it in drugstores. The popularity grew. From there the signature red eyebrow pencil came, then with coloured eyeshadows and matching eyeliners. This lead to the fashion trend of dramatic makeup for the flapper of the time. Maybelline increased its sales by being the first cosmetic company to advertise on the radio. It then released a special 10 cent package of Cake mascara for retail sale. (OMG! if mascara were 10cents now.....could you imagine!?!?)
The company went through many moves over the years to follow: 1967; Plough Inc bought Maybelline(factory moved from Chicago to Memphis. In 1975, the company moved the factory to Little Rock, Arkansas, where it still is today. In 1996 L'oreal acquired Maybelline in its portfolio. In 2004, Maybelline officially became Maybelline New York. This meant that Maybelline became a cool, unique and captivating representation of New York.
Company today
Maybelline is the number one cosmetics brand globally; available in over 90 countries all over the world. It is found in almost every drugstore, discount store, supermarket and cosmetics specialty stores. The brand also has a sleek image brought by their spokes models: Adriana Lima, Josie Maran and Tomiko Fraser. These models portray Maybelline New York's image as modern and approachable. While technology continues to be the backbone for the brand.
What the company has to offer
Maybelline has a variety of products from skincare and beauty. It offers a variety of foundations, concealers, powder, blush and bronzer to eyeshadows, liners, mascaras, brow pencils, lipsticks and glosses to long wearing lip wear to makeup remover.

KnoW.to.LoVe.-BraNd.SpotLight. - SmashboX.

Introduction and Company history
Smashbox is like the little train that could. And boy did it! It all started not too long ago, unlike most successful makeup brands; Smashbox started with two brothers who had a dream. These brothers are know as the ambassadors of style and the great grandsons of the renown Max Factor. They joined forces and talents to create a makeup brand that could compete with brands such as Lancome, Maybelline or Estee Lauder.
The first of the brothers is Dean Factor(CEO & Co founder of Smashbox enterprises); he is a business man(the brains) with a MBA from the University of Southern California. And the other brother is Davis Factor(CCO(Chief Creative Officer) & Co founder of Smashbox enterprises); he is the celebrity and fashion photographer(the creative part) with experience ranging from working with J.Lo to Vanity fair magazine to Vogue to Allure.
Smashbox as a photo studios started in 1991, however the cosmetics line started in 1996. The birth of the line started with a relationship that Davis had with the celebrity makeup artists that he had working with him in the Smashbox studios. They constantly had starlets passing through the studios daily. The idea behind the line was to dispel hollywood secrets and allow any woman to feel glamourous. With the two brothers being asked constantly to create a makeup line that could last during a photo shoot, Smashbox was born!

Company today
Smashbox currently is the number one selling colour cosmetics line. With innovative technology and exclusive ideas, the brand is excelling. It is an international sensation, available all over the world. All of the artists, celebrities, models and photographers of the smashbox studios are sought after in the beauty industry.
The company truly is unique and wonderful at the same time. I highly recommend trying anything from the line if you have not already.
Another exciting and important thing has happened for Smashbox:
"The Estée Lauder Companies is the ideal home for Smashbox.” -Dean Factor
Yes it is true. Estee Lauder has added Smashbox cosmetics to its portfolio. Lauder plans to broaden the distribution of Smashbox as well as well as boost the brand.

What the company has to offer
Smashbox has a lot to offer. From professional quality products that provide beautiful results and cater to all walks of women, from the beginner to the expert. They are constantly releasing quality products and not just remakes or redos of previous launches.
It also is a brand that states that they don't even like to keep secrets. If you want to know, they will tell you. They offer also offer products at reasonable prices; they are not a company that looks to get much profit. The prices are for the quality and the ingredients. Basically you are not paying marked up prices.
Something important to to me as well that I love about Smashbox is that they offer products that are guaranteed  not tested on animals AT ALL! Meaning that the ingredients are not tested by other companies and then sold to Smashbox. 3% from each product is actually donated to PETA and various charities.
The brand also goes as far as having recyclable packaging and the brushes are of top quality.
