So what does this mean in the world of makeup? Well this is where the artistry comes to play. Instead of applying concealers and layers upon layers of foundation to cover a skin imperfection, you can neutralize the area first. After neutralizing the area, a light imperfection may not even need any concealing and a darker or more visible imperfection may only need a light layer of foundation or concealer.
Well how do we do it? The first step to colour correction is finding out what type of correction you need. Not all skin imperfections need the same level of correction. A skin imperfection can range from uneven complexion to a dark pigmented scar.
Examples of Light correction: uneven skin tone, dull complexion, little overall redness or sallow skin
Examples of Concealing correction: dark under eye circles, reddish blemishes, scars, birthmarks, bruising, sallow skin, rosacea
