Has anyone else but me notice that we are going through a 'ballerina' trend? I have noticed this so much as of recently... and I'm liking it!
While working out, I've noticed more girls showing up with ballerina slippers and leg warmers definitely are coming back. I use to wear leg warmers all the time.
Dior Spring/Summer 2011
The whole ballerina trend has affected many things other then fashion as well. Such as movies like 'Black Swan' to makeup trends.
I find a lot of girls are steering towards the whole fresh faced, dramatic eye, soft lips kind of makeup as of recently. Very ballerina-esque. Nude nails and flat shoes also seem to be everywhere. Soft pink and baby pink all over the place. Even companies such as Bourjois are picking up on this trend, with their Spring 2011 collection called "Paris Ballerine".
Well, what do you think? Do you notice this look kind of sneaking into your life since 'Black Swan'?
Most of the time I could be found wearing my traditional old hoops on my ears, but lately I have been obsessed with wearing long dangly earrings. Feathered ones, jewelled ones, chandelier ones....anything long or that catches my eye. Here are a few photos of three pairs of my earrings.(the above picture is actually a sneak peek of my next tutorial- that's why it is in sepia) I think earrings can change an outfit from day to night. Can change a simple outfit to fun and trendy. What do you think of long earrings? or crazy earrings like these? Would you wear these out. I love having fun with accessories!
Here are some fun earrings that I found online.. what do you think? comment below!
On a side note: I received my Famous Feather hair extensions finally.... after what more then 3 weeks I think? Well guess what..... they are missing 2 things! I can't even put them in! They sent me the bundle of feathers and the thing to thread my hair with but they didn't send me the bead or pliers to put them in my hair! :( Now I either have to wait for their explanation..or I have to BUY them and wait ANOTHER 3+ weeks to actually put them in!! Is that their way of making me buy something? I guess you can't choose when you win something... but it is rather disappointing... (insert annoyed face here)
What a beautiful sunny Saturday morning, here in Vancouver. The sun definitely has me thinking of the beach(which I can be found at, all summer long). And with that comes my next instalment of my 'OBSESSION' series. This post will start off with of course a hair style that I love. Beach waves, wavy hair, messy hair, whatever you want to call it, I love it! I just love the look, it looks easy to do, super simple and is still sexy. Fortunately for me, this hair style comes quite 'naturally' in a sense. I can simply create this look, after washing my hair I either braid it or don't brush it and they key is to air dry my hair. To encourage the style a little more, I spray in a sea salt spray from GOSH and scrunch my hair. I also have products from Fekkai Marine summer hair collection, which are all about helping with this style.
What do you think of this hair style?
Another, I guess obsession with mine is to get a six pack or some sort of abs. I use to hate working out for the longest time, but finally last year, I really put my 'foot' down and told my self to get active. For my friends or people who have known me for a while, who might say that I don't need to workout. Well, I just want to keep healthy and tone up. For the last 6 months, I have been attending regular pole dancing classes. (No not stripping!) Every time I mention what type of workout I do, people tend to think that I want to become a stripper or that I just shake my 'butt' around a pole. But if you ever get the chance to take a pole class, it is serious hard work and is a major workout for the WHOLE body. (Click here to check out what type of crazy workout it really is) Do you workout regularly? What do you do to keep active?
For about the last week or so I have been 'drooling' over these. I am talking about feather hair extensions. I first saw them a while ago actually. But after seeing them in Kandee Johnson's video of her showing how to install them, I was sold(video below).
I just love the look of these in the hair and how you don't have to be committed to a look, like you would when dying your hair.
Something else that I love about them is that they are so easy to use! And apparently you can also wash them, curl them, brush them and they stay in tact.
After finding out about these beauties, I added 'Famous Feathers" as a friend on Facebook and coincidently enough they were holding a contest to win some feather extensions.
I of course jumped on the idea and entered.
Lucky enough, I won! I chose as my prize a bundle of mixed feathers (2 Hot Pink/Black Stripe , 1 Black, 2 Black/White Stripe). You will definitely see these beauties featured in the near future when they arrive in the mail..... for now, enjoy these photos I found and Kandee's video on how to install them.
As an added obsession, I have been always intrigued by fish tail braids, but never knew how to do them. I recently learned how to do these and am so obsessed by them! I think they are a cool twist on the traditional braid.
What do you think of these looks?
(Oh and ps. - I got an email about a possible sponsored giveaway where you get to spend money on whatever you want...... fingers crossedXxX and keep your eyes open and check back :D )
